How Do I Deal With Conflict?
-
When
safety or equipment use issues occur, please follow the following
guidelines:
-
Each
faculty investigator is primarily responsible for safety
compliance on a project.
-
Lab
Managers (Bill Lang
or John Dreger)
will resolve day to day safety-related and equipment use
problems.
-
When
neither lab manager is on site, but a faculty member identifies
a safety or equipment use issue, any graduate student
involved with the issue will respond in a professional
manner to the direction provided by the faculty member.
-
When
there is no lab manager or faculty member present, but
a graduate student identifies a safety or equipment use
issue, any undergraduate student involved with the issue
will respond in a professional manner to the direction
provided by the graduate student.
-
When
conflicts or safety issues, are not quickly and amicably
resolved, the associated activity must cease and the issue
should be brought to the Lab Director (Professor
Steven M. Cramer) as soon as possible for resolution.
- Another
option is to go to UW-Madison
Conflict Resolution Link.
