John Reinhardt Memorial Fund establishedA memorial fund has been established to honor John Reinhardt's outstanding career and contributions in civil and environmental engineering. John graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1958 and became a pioneer and innovator in the field of solid waste engineering. He conducted advanced research in partnership with the University of Wisconsin-Madison, was a contributor in the planning of several UW professional-level seminars and short courses and a lecturer in many of them. As a co-founder and senior manager at RMT, Inc., an environmental engineering consulting firm, John was responsible for hiring many engineering graduates from UW-Madison and for providing leadership and mentoring in their careers. In recognition of his career, a memorial fund has been established at the University of Wisconsin Foundation. Any funds contributed will be directed to the UW-Madison Civil and Environmental Engineering Department for use in student support at the discretion of the chair of the department and the program head for the solid waste engineering curriculum. We have asked that the funds be used to support students focusing on solid waste engineering based on a combination of need and merit. Anyone wishing to make contributions in John's memory should make checks payable to the: University of Wisconsin Foundation, with a notation "John Reinhardt Memorial." Mail checks to:
University of Wisconsin Foundation
