U.S. Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta awarded the Midwest Regional University Transportation Center a USDOT grant of $870,200 during a visit to Milwaukee April 25. The grant will help fund a regional freight transportation workshop focused on increasing diversity in the transportation workforce, development of a regional information services concept, and research into asset management programs.
The center is housed at UW-Madison, and is affiliated with the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
