Fifth annual golf benefit generates student and alumni interest
With nearly perfect weather, Sept. 10 was a great day for golf at the Lake Wisconsin Country Club. This year our student organizations, the ASCE Student Chapter, the Construction Club and the ITE Student Chapter, joined forces to recruit 17 student golfers, who were sponsored by corporations and individual donors. The students competed with more than 50 alumni and friends for the event's top prize, $100 for low gross. A student foursome, which included Tom Boyke, Karin Hollister, Andrew Potokar and Ryan Yoho, took home the prize.
Many thanks to the organizing committee of Denny Brush, Tom Carlsen, Keith Garnett, Seth Johnson, Don Jorgensen, Melvin Luher and Kent Straus for recruiting sponsors and participants. The Wisconsin Concrete Pavement Association again sponsored the Hole-In-One contest with its $10,000 prize. Please reserve Monday, September 9, 2002, for our Sixth Annual Golf Benefit. |
