Robert L. Siegrist (BSCE '72, MSCE '75, PhD CEE '86), professor of environmental science and engineering at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado, was appointed as interim director of that division during spring 2001. Prior to joining CSM in 1995, he was group leader for environmental engineering at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Siegrist has over 20 years of experience in environmental science and engineering in the United States and abroad and is a Fellow with the NATO Committee for Challenges to Modern Society. He is lead author of a recent book, "Principles and Practices of In Situ Chemical Oxidation Using Permanganate" that was published this summer by Battelle Press. Siegrist lives in Boulder, Colorado, with his wife, Sue, and son, Jonathan.

Thomas Pulse (BS '84) has been appointed vice president of engineering services in the Ayres Associates' Eau Claire, Wisconsin, office. He manages engineering services efforts, including client relations, project planning and employee supervision, in the company's Eau Claire and Duluth, Minnesota, offices.

John Wengler (BS '85) has released a new book, "Managing Energy Risk: A Nontechnical Guide to Markets and Trading" (PennWell, 2001), to help make sense of the rapidly deregulating electricity industry. He recently joined R.W. Beck in Denver, Colorado, and resides in Winnetka, Illinois, with his wife, Dragana Pilipovic, and their children, Nevena and Sasha.
