McMahon selected for NAE's 2007 U.S. Frontiers of Engineering Symposium
Assistant Professor Katherine (Trina) McMahon is one of eighty-three young engineers selected to take part in the National Academy of Engineering 13th Annual US Frontiers of Engineering Symposium. The participants — from industry, academia, and government — were nominated by fellow engineers or organizations and chosen from more than 260 applicants.
The symposium will be held Sept. 24-26 at Microsoft Research in Redmond, WA, and will examine trustworthy computer systems, safe water technologies, modeling and simulating human behavior, biotechnology for fuels and chemicals, and the control of protein conformations. McMahon's research interests in water quality and environmental biotechnology are well aligned with the symposium topics.
