    Summary

In a broad sense, my research interests involve the study of interrelationships between aquatic chemistry and the treatment and distribution of drinking water. More specifically, my research group studies:

    1. removal and inactivation of waterborne pathogens,
    2. natural organic matter and its influence on drinking water treatment and disinfection byproduct formation,
    3. nitrification in chloraminated distribution systems,
    4. mathematical modeling for simulating water quality changes during drinking water treatment and distribution, and
    5. physical/chemical treatment processes such as ozonation, chloramination, coagulation, ultraviolet irradiation, activated carbon, and membranes.
