Student Activities

Students typically participate in three major professional activities or societies: American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Student Chapter; the Construction Club and Chi Epsilon. ASCE organizes activities such as mentor night (students learn about the engineering industry), individual mentor program (students matched with practicing engineers), concrete canoe competition, steel bridge competition, student activity fair, Habitat for Humanity, and Christmas 4 Kids. The Construction Club was formed in 2000 and has quickly grown into a major active student organization. Chi Epsilon is the Civil Engineering Honor Society. UW-Madison Chi Epsilon Chapter successfully organized and hosted the 36th National Conclave from March 2 to 4, 2000.
