735 Soil Dynamics. (Crosslisted with GLE 735.) I or II; 3cr. Geotechnical considerations of earthquake engineering and foundation vibrations. Seismic surveying; ground motion during earthquakes; determination of soil properties for ground response analysis; dynamic properties of soils; soil structure interaction effects; soil liquifaction; dynamic analysis of earth dams; settlements resulting from earthquakes, lateral earth pressures during earthquakes; foundation vibrations. P:Civ Engr/EMA 530, EMA 545 or cons inst. Bosscher.
