  Catalog Description
  698 Special Topics in Construction Engineering and Management. Irr; 1-4cr. Advanced topics of special interest to seniors and grad students in construction engineering and management. This course is an introduction to Lean in the construction industry. The class begins with the origins of Lean Construction and its connection to the Toyota Production System, and then focuses on understanding the principles of lean. Topics include Integrated Project Delivery, the a Target Cost Approach to project management, and the use of BIM as a fundamental communication tool in achieving deep collaboration and Lean project delivery.
