Bob Bird’s 90th Birthday
Symposium and Banquet
January 30-31, 2014
Through his dedication to excellence in research and education, Bob Bird has been an inspiration to generations of his UW-Madison students and colleagues. Join us for a symposium and banquet to commemorate Bob's 90th birthday. We will remember Bob's extraordinary career, learn about the latest frontiers of the fields that his work has influenced and hear from academic and industrial leaders about the present and future of Chemical Engineering.
Banquet: January 30, Blackhawk Country Club
Symposium January 30-31, Engineering Hall, UW-Madison campus
A poster session will highlight current activities in the department.
Bob has stated that the only gifts he will accept are poems. Here’s an example from an anonymous CBE professor:
You’ve probably heard
Of a fellow named Bird.
As a scholar he’s greatly admired.
He loves to canoe
And speak languages too.
Generations of us he’s inspired.
