Bob Bird’s 90th Birthday

Symposium and Banquet

January 30-31, 2014

Through his dedication to excellence in research and education, Bob Bird has been an inspiration to generations of his UW-Madison students and colleagues. On January 30-31, 2014 the department held a symposium and banquet to commemorate Bob's 90th birthday. We remembered Bob's extraordinary career, learned about the latest frontiers of the fields that his work has influenced and heard from academic and industrial leaders about the present and future of Chemical Engineering. Links to videos of the presentations and slides for most of them are below, as well as a link to the banquet program.

You’ve probably heard
Of a fellow named Bird.
As a scholar he’s greatly admired.
He loves to canoe
And speak languages too.
Generations of us he’s inspired.
