| Positions in Biomedical Engineering |
The University of Wisconsin-Madison Biomedical Engineering Department invites applications for a tenured or tenure-track position beginning January 2007. Salary and academic rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience. A Ph.D.and/or MD in Biomedical Engineering, Cellular & Molecular Biology, Medical Physics, Radiology or other area is required. The successful candidate is expected to have exceptional potential to establish a strong research program in Biomedical Imaging with research interests in minimally invasive investigation of cellular and molecular events associated with normal and pathological processes.
Research experience in the application of MRI, Nuclear/PET, Optical, Ultrasound or other techniques for molecular imaging is required. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in the development of targeted imaging reporter techniques or probes that indicate cell metabolism, track cell migration, assess gene expression or study other aspects of normal and pathologic cells.
The UW has developed a cluster of faculty positions in the area of minimally invasive medical technology. Successful candidates will have primary or joint faculty appointments in appropriate departments participating in minimally invasive medicine (e.g., Biomed Engr, Med Physics, Medicine, Pharmacology, Radiology, and Surgery).
