| Randolph Ashton |
Welcome Randolph Ashton! We are proud to announce that Randolph Ashton will be joining the Department of Biomedical Engineering as an Assistant Professor in fall 2011. Dr. Ashton comes to us from the University of California, Berkeley. The goal of his research is to help translate stem cell-based regenerative medicine from the bench top to the clinic by increasing our understanding of stem cell biology and engineering biomaterials, tissue engineering scaffolds, culture systems, and bioreactors that effectively instruct stem cell fate. Professor Ashton adds to an excellent group of UW faculty who are using bioengineering approaches to advance stem cell research and education.
