• Development of animal models that create and allow treatment of intervertebral disc degeneration. Experimental treatments include the use of growth factors, peptides and non-viral gene transfer.
• Develop quantitative methods to measure the distribution of water throughout human and animal intervertebral discs.
• Evaluate the use of adipose derived stem cells in a spinal fusion model.
• Spinal biomechanics for design and validation of disc arthroplasty devices.
