520 Stem Cell Bioengineering. I; 3 cr. This course covers engineering approaches that are used to understand and manipulate stem cells. Concepts covered include: introduction to stem cell biology, quantitative modeling of stem cell signaling, methods to engineer the stem cell microenvironment, and the role of stem cells in tissue development and regeneration. P: Math 319 or 320, Zoology 470 or 570, Chem 343, or consent of instructor.
