The goal of the capstone design course is to address a real world problem (e.g. design of a rehabilitation device) and provide a service to the university community. This project course will enable students to apply classroom study in a directed project in BME and this exploration will be supplemented with seminars and discussions with an advisory panel who represent various areas of expertise in BME ranging from academia to industry. Prerequisites: Senior standing in Biomedical Engineering.

Course Prerequisite(s)

Prerequisite knowledge and/or skills

At least four semesters of design experience including the major capstone project

Course objectives

Topics covered

In four-person teams, first-semester seniors complete the major capstone design project that they began planning and conducting pilot studies on in the second semester of their junior year.
