MS degree requirements

For students entering starting Fall 2014, there is one MS (30 credit) program study plan form. Be sure to have this form approved by your advisor prior to starting (or early in) your first semester's coursework.

For students who entered prior to Fall 2014, there are two different MS program study plans, the 24 credit and 30 credit options. Please consult with your advisor before selecting the curriculum to follow.

The Student Services Office (3182 Mechanical Engineering) will send out an e-mail at the beginning of each semester requesting the names of students who plan to graduate. In order to be listed in the Commencement Program, you must notify the Student Services Office of your graduation plans at least 2 months before commencement.


Students who are in their last semester of the MS program should prepare the necessary paperwork about 2 months before graduation. There are 2 documents required for MS completion:


1. A copy of your Degree Program Study Plan (above) signed by your advisor. Please note this form MUST be accompanied by a paragraph (see form).


2. MS Warrant Request Form, which can be picked up in the Student Services Office. Please see the Warrant Process document for an explanation of warrants.
