The growth of technology in teaching has been phenomenal, and continues to change at a rapid pace. The world wide web, educational software development and other advancements have created new paths for sharing knowledge and new modes of interaction for students and teachers. The Harvey Spangler Award for Technology Enhanced Instruction recognizes how the use of technology can greatly enhance the learning experience for students, making it a crucial part of the instructor's toolbox. The Harvey Spangler Award for Technology-Enhanced Instruction was first presented in 2005.
