From engineering firm associate to college dean to national management consultant, Stuart Walesh's work experience runs the gamut of the engineering profession.

In 1967, he began teaching at Valparaiso University, where he advanced to professor of civil engineering. His academic career also included serving as adjunct associate professor of civil engineering at UW-Madison.

Walesh joined the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission in 1970, leading the development of in-house water resources expertise. In 1978, he joined Donohue & Associates, a Wisconsin-based engineering consulting firm, where he worked as an associate, discipline manager and department head. While at Donohue, Walesh directed the creation of the water resources engineering service line.

In 1985, he returned to Valparaiso University as dean of the College of Engineering, and led a series of staff and program improvements. During his tenure as dean, Walesh served as a member of the Indiana State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers, published two books and received the Public Service Award from the Consulting Engineers of Indiana.

Walesh currently uses his leadership, management and engineering expertise to advise state-level and national clients through his management consulting work.

In 1993, he started a sole practitioner consulting business offering management, marketing and training services to technical organizations, most of which are civil and environmental engineering consulting firms. He has assisted these clients in a variety of areas such as mentoring, marketing, training, creating a corporate university, project management, business planning and career development.
