Goal 1: Serve as receptionist for main departmental office.
|M/E||Expected: Answer all incoming calls. Respond to routine questions and route others to appropriate staff.|
|Observed: Has done an excellent job.|
|M/E||Expected: Serve as first person contact for visitors to the Department. Exercise judgement, tact and professionalism in answering questions, making referrals to appropriate staff and diplomatically handling complaints.|
|Observed: Had been very pleasant and helpful, even when things are very busy. Is patient and seeks out information on where to refer people if he doesn't know where they should go.|
Goal 2: Provide general and administrative support duties.
|M/E||Expected: Serve as departmental resource on domestic and international mailings. Provide accurate information regarding US postal regulations, mailing processes and cost effectiveness.|
|Observed: Has done an excellent job in keeping up with the many postal changes that occur throughout the year.|
|M/E||Expected: Schedule meetings using electronic appointment calendar for departmental Chair.|
|Observed: Has learned this very complicated task and knows when to ask for help, which is very important.|
|M/E||Expected: Maintain office files. Purge inactive files, prepare new files and maintain complex codification.|
|Observed: Keeps files up to date and has compiled a database that makes retrieval fast and efficient.|
|M/E||Expected: Draft routine correspondence for Chair's signature. Provide word processing support, which includes production of correspondence, reports and other materials. Arrange for assembly, reproduction, and distribution as appropriate.|
|Observed: Has taken many steps to improve his technical skills after working in a setting that did not require keyboarding. He is doing an excellent job.|
Goal 3: Assist others in the Department with special event projects.
|M/E||Expected: Develop and maintain databases of event contacts, using spreadsheet programs|
|Observed: Has been very effective in this area. Is not afraid to suggest new processes.|
|M/E||Expected: Produce final copy of correspondence and other documents. Prepare name badges, placards, insuring that names and affiliations are correct.|
|Observed: Has been very efficient in performing these tasks.|
|M/E||Expected: Keep ledgers of monies received and prepare checks for deposit to proper accounts.|
|Observed: Is very conscientious regarding this task. Documents are always accurate.|
Development Goals (Job Related)--Optional: Attend training sessions relating to the database design.
Overall Comment: Overall the employee has done a wonderful job in the short period of time he has been with the department.
