Newsnotes 5/1/13: A message from Dean Ian Robertson
I wanted to inform you about a series of activities occurring over the next six months, in which I will be partnering with engineering department chairs to transform our relationships and interactions with our alumni. This series of events will occur in key regions around the country with a strong base of Badger engineers. The current list of dates and venues is below.
As we begin the transition to a different advancement model, one in which the departments and its faculty are engaged fully, we will change the formula for these events and have academic departments take a lead role in the outreach and messaging at each event. Our alumni are outstanding and I look forward to working with you and the department chairs to build even stronger ties to them. They will continue to play an increasingly important role in shaping the future success of the college and their department — whether it be in serving on our advisory boards, mentoring students, providing expertise in the classroom, assisting with finding internship and employment opportunities for our students, building research collaborations and partnerships, or giving of their time and financial resources.
We will need your help to make these events a success and hope you will encourage those alumni you know to participate. If you would like to learn more or participate in one or more of these events, please contact your department leadership.
