Ferris and others to create tool to guide bioenergy policy

A team that includes Industrial and Systems Engineering and Computer Sciences Professor Michael Ferris received $345,327 from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Agriculture and Food Research Initiative to develop an interactive tool and educational game to promote biofuel production. The tool will help users assess the environmental, social and economic outcomes of land use changes that might accompany different bioenergy policies, allowing policymakers, regulators, farmers, conservationists and developers to understand their impacts.
